About
Emerald
Emerald is a Kenyan legal-data platform. It gives people, software and AI assistants a searchable source of Kenyan judgments and statutes, through a website, a REST API and an MCP server.
What Emerald does
Emerald ingests, cleans and indexes Kenyan court judgments and statutes so they can be searched and retrieved in seconds. Every result keeps a link back to its originating public source. Emerald is built and operated by Ynai.
Who uses it
Advocates, researchers and developers use the Emerald website and API to search case law and legislation. Product teams and individuals connect Emerald's MCP server to AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT so those assistants can look up Kenyan law before answering a question.
Signing in with Google
Emerald offers Google Sign-In as a faster way to create and access an Emerald account, as an alternative to an email and password. Emerald only requests your name, email address and basic profile information to create and secure your account. Emerald does not request access to your Gmail, Drive, Calendar or any other Google data.
